What can I do?
- Ask friends and family for afternoon tea wearing a hat
- Have your Book reading meetings during hat week. Discuss a book on depression. A good selection is available:

- Ask your local coffee shop or favourite restaurant to support the cause in offering a "Special Blue Hat Dinner” which would taste better and more fun if eaten with a hat on! $ could be donated to the blue hat project.
- Encourage your primary school / high school teacher to do an activity with the children around Hat week to let them express what sadness means to them and what things make them happy.
- Remember not to leave home without a hat during Hat week.!
- Speak to the Principal at your school and suggest the children come to school in any hat for $ 1 donation. Make them aware off all the youth Websites available such as Sane, Black dog and beyond blue.
- Organise a $ 2 donation for wearing a hat at your workplace.
- Have a display at your local library or bank of the different kinds of hats we all wear at different times /occasions in our life.
- Are you an artist? Maybe you could paint what you believe other 'keep under their hat' and /or what you keep under yours!
- Organise a lunch, afternoon tea, dinner with family and friends
- Organise a quiz night around the blue hat project
